Australian country trio The McClymonts to play free show in Hampton

Suddenly, country-singing Australians seem to have a thing for Hampton. Tonight, July 26, Keith Urban plays Hampton Coliseum. Next week, the less famous but still excellent McClymonts will perform a free show at Hampton's Peninsula Town Centre. The show is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3. Made up of three singing sisters -- Brooke, Samantha and Mollie McClymont -- the group has been compared to The Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain and Miranda Lambert. They haven't scored big hits stateside yet, but the future seems bright for the young women. Their album "Wrapped Up Good" was released January 2010 by Universal Music Australia, but is coming out in this country Aug. 23. "Considering it's been almost half a decade since country has seen a girl group find success ... The McClymonts stand as one fierce choice for dominating radio waves at the close of the new millennium's first decade and beyond," wrote Matthew Chisling on allmusic.com.
